The fiber optic box at the entrance is blocked
Once the cable ends are prepared, a rubber diaphragm at the box's cable entry hole needs to be pierced. The optical fiber termination box is mounted on the wall or on the 19 inches (483 mm) wide standard rack. The forward-looking facilities designer knows that fiber counts in both outside plant (OSP) and Intra-Facility Cable (IFC) increase rapidly, sometimes even before a project finishes. It does not degrade like copper, requires little maintenance and loses only a fraction of its signal strength over 100 meters. The receptacles seem to be blocked? Before I turn off the power and unscrew these to see what's up I thought I'd ask: any idea why they'd be non-functional? Is this a bad idea to plug the modem directly into this area?
