I see that the 3750G switch has (What I believe is) 4 SFP ports and the 2960 has 2 SFP ports. (actually use a four core optical cable) This is because apart from one-core optical fiber, there are basically no optical cables with an odd number of cores, such as three-core, five-core, etc. With a fiber switch combined with a fiber network adapter, you could connect fiber directly to your desktop computer or server.
