Fiber optic communication systems are immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by power lines since they do not carry electrical current directly through their conductors like traditional metallic-based communication systems do. As long as the 14g wire doesn't damage the fiber, everything is fine, As long as the fiber sheath is non conductive (small fiber is always going to be), the code permits it to be run in conduits and elsewhere along side of power wiring. One way round this is to install aerial fiber cables close to power lines, such as on mixed use poles which also carry electricity.
