The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has supported the Government of Samoa and the Samoa Electric Power Corporation (EPC) to upgrade the transmission and distribution system in Samoa.

This has included construction of 16 transmission and distribution subprojects to improve reliability of the network. ZBW□ type prefabricated substation is a complete set of distribution equipment that combines high-voltage switchgear,distribution transformers,low-voltage switchgear,electric energy metering devices,power factor compensation devices,etc. It houses protective devices such as circuit breakers or fuses, ensuring both equipment protection and user safety. Distribution boxes can be broadly categorized by their voltage level, application environment, and primary function.
